OUR STORY

AvikaInc was founded in 2012-13 by us, first time parents, Prem & Deepa who are inspired by the birth of our beautiful daughter, Avika.

The business idea came about when we started shopping products for Avika. We realized that the products were either too expensive or a compromise had to be made on quality. This was rather frustrating and we decided to bridge this gap by looking for Unique products for children which would be of high quality and also at affordable prices. We decided to source products that add value to both, the parents and the children and that was the inception of AvikaInc.

We initially started with focus on Baby products only. We took up more brands in the course of the following years and quickly learnt how to select the right products and make them successful. Eventually, we were contacted by manufacturers from different industries who expressed their intent to work with us.

Early 2016, we got into cleaning products and our first product there is Shadazzle, a multi-purpose cleaner from France.

With Shadazzle, we created a sales channel of TV shopping, hyper markets, high-end hardware stores, large furniture retailers, super markets and 5-star hotels.

Shadazzle is loved by many 4 & 5 star hotels because it’s a single product that solves various issues of the housekeeping, stewarding and engineering departments. We have built a network of 150+ hotels that are using Shadazzle extensively.

We believe in giving adequate time to each brand that we take up for distribution and hence prefer to work with limited number of brands and operate within our bandwidth.

How do we decide which products and companies are “best”? First, they must align with our vision. Second, they must add value to the end customer who could be a child, a parent or anyone else and also add value for a retailer who offers space in their stores to display the product.
